Ayahuasca Retreat Center in the Peruvian Amazon
Create. Care. Respect.
AMAAYAHUASCA is a place held in simplicity, nature and respect. Ayahuasca Retreat Center in the Peruvian Amazon
Location & Natural Setting
Amaayahuasca is located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, on an elevated hillside with breathtaking views over the vast expanses of the Amazon. We are situated approximately 1.5 hours outside of Iquitos, within the protected Alpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve.
Surrounded by primary forest and extraordinary biodiversity, the center offers immersion, silence, and direct connection with nature. A natural stream crosses the property, inviting guests to bathe, cool down, and rest in its flowing waters.
Water, Energy & Accommodation
Our drinking water comes from our own natural spring and is used for both the kitchen and showers. The center operates on solar energy, with electricity limited to common areas, outdoor lighting, and internet connection. Electrical devices can be charged in the communal space.
We are not connected to a public sewage system; all wastewater is naturally absorbed on-site. Each guest is accommodated in a private bungalow, called a Tambo, with access to shared bathroom facilities.
Botanical Garden
A diversity of master and healing plants already surrounds and accompanies life at the center. Our team continuously expands and nurtures the botanical garden, allowing the space to grow in harmony with the teachings of the forest.
Sustainability
Our Commitment
It is our fundamental attitude to operate and maintain the center in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way. This is only possible with the responsible participation of our visitors.
Amaayahuasca lies deep within the Amazon rainforest and inside a protected natural reserve. Our ecological footprint matters.
Water & Sanitation
Because we are not connected to a sewage system, all wastewater is absorbed directly into the ground. We kindly ask guests to bring biodegradable products from their home countries, especially soaps for body and laundry use.
Our toilets are modern composting dry toilets. This system avoids the use of fuel-powered water pumps while creating valuable compost soil. We also ask guests to use water mindfully, particularly when showering.
Waste & Responsibility
Peru does not offer recycling for batteries. We therefore ask visitors to take all used batteries back to their home countries for proper disposal.
On-site, we separate waste into paper/cardboard, metal, PET (plastic bottles), and general waste. All organic material that is not suitable as animal feed is composted.
Giving Back
Guests who wish to plant a seedling before departure are warmly invited to do so. We are happy to assist in this gesture of reciprocity.
We depend on the awareness and support of each individual and are deeply grateful for every conscious contribution.
AMAAYAHUASCA
The path is the goal.
