AMAAYAHUASCA – A project in the process of becoming

We offer guided ceremonial journeys and an intimate Amazonian plant medicine retreat in Iquitos, Peru, rooted in indigenous tradition and held with care, humility and responsibility.

AMAAYAHUASCA is an evolving project shaped through lived experience, careful listening and a deep sense of responsibility. It emerged from a personal path of healing and learning and continues to unfold through dialogue, reflection and practice.

Rooted in tradition and guided with humility, the work is held with care and respect for the paths it touches. Rather than offering fixed answers, Amaayahuasca remains open to learning, refinement and integrity over time.

The Current Phase

The center in the Peruvian Amazon serves as a small Amazonian plant medicine retreat in Peru, evolving through careful development and lived experience on the land.

Initial internal retreats have already taken place, and 2026 marks a conscious pilot phase, held in small and intentionally guided cycles.

Growth follows integrity, not expansion.

Born From a Call of the Medicine

What began as a personal journey of healing in the Peruvian Amazon in 2020 unfolded into a path of devotion, remembrance and service.

Founded by Swiss registered nurse Maria Ursina Balastèr, Amaayahuasca stands at the meeting point of ancient Amazonian wisdom and conscious, grounded guidance.

With deep respect for the Shipibo tradition, the work is held in a safe space for inner exploration, reconnection and transformation.

Guided by the medicine and supported by carefully chosen curanderos in Peru, participants are invited to return to balance, truth and wholeness.

The Medicine and Its Cultural Roots

The ceremonial work is carried in deep respect for indigenous traditions and the cultural lineages from which the medicine originates.

It is approached not as a tool, but as a relationship that requires preparation, responsibility and care.

Amaayahuasca understands the medicine as part of a wider cultural and spiritual context that cannot be separated from its origins.

Our Ayahuasca is prepared in the traditional way and contains the Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and Chacruna (Psychotria viridis).

The work offered through this Amazonian plant medicine retreat in Peru therefore emphasizes cultural respect, careful guidance and personal responsibility.

Master Plant Dietas

In addition to Ayahuasca ceremonies, we offer traditional Master Plant Dietas. A dieta is a focused and disciplined way of working with one specific plant teacher within the Amazonian medicinal tradition.

During your stay, the plant supports your healing process. In ceremony, in daily life, and often through dreams. Depending on the individual process, this may include working with plants such as Piñon Blanco, Bobinsana, Ajo Sacha, Chiric Sanango, Marosa. Or in carefully guided contexts, Toe. Each plant carries distinct traditional properties and is selected with care and responsibility.

This work requires commitment, psychological stability, and guidance. It is intended for those who feel called to deepen their healing process beyond ceremony alone.

If you would like to learn more about Master Plant Dietas and whether this path may be appropriate for you, we invite you to contact us directly.
